Making the Most of Your Workout

The exercise regime you will experience with the Brantford Black Eye Boxing Club is more than enough to tone your muscles and get you into great physical shape.

To help you get into shape faster and then stay there, we offer the following suggestions.

 

  • Eat a healthy and sensible diet. Find a way of eating that works for you - whether it's low carb/high protein, low fat, or just following Canada's Food Guide - and then stick with it.
  • Avoid foods that are high in saturated fats, salt, and sugar whenever possible.
  • Drink plenty of good water, especially while you are working out. Your body is almost 80% water and functions at its best when properly hydrated.
  • Spend at least 30 minutes every day doing an exercise that will increase your endurance, like running, swimming, or cycling. The exercises that you do at the club are mostly focused on improving technique and building muscle tone and it is up to you to increase your endurance if you feel that it could help your performance.

Remember to always check with your doctor before beginning a new exercise program or changing your diet.
